    You can set any pages from the Settings > Reading Section.

    In fact I need to change the name itself. How can one change the “Home” to, for instance, „Hauptseite” (“Main page” in German)?

    You can type German During Creating or Editing Pages or Menus.

    Thank you very much for your answer, but my question is still open – how can I change the word Home? This is my current page: Biuro tłumaczeń VeroLing. I’ve tried several ways to translate “Home” (or at least hide it), but was unsuccessful 🙁

    You can change it when you create the menu!
    Select Menu and then click on the Home menu. You will now get two edit boxes, Navigation and Title attrib, change Navigation to whatever you want…

    NB! I have a Swedish version of WP installed so I don’t know exactly what the edit boxes are called. But it’s the left one you need to change.
