NewsPress Extend Gallery

I just started playing in this adventure called WordPress. Note I’m from the old school of writing all of my own code. http://www.cloverpark65.com/

My new site is using WordPress D5 Creation NewsPress Extend Theme http:/www.cloverpark65.org/
I’m still getting used to where all of the settings are found.

I’m really confused about the Gallery settings and the resulting displays.
Where do I go to modify the display of gallery Thumbnails and the color of the caption backgrounds?
Also which settings control the size of the displayed full size image from the gallery?

I’ve created a website named “http://trttamilolli.apps-1and1.net/” and I choose “NewsPress Extend” theme.
I have a problem with the Gallery settings.
