    loving this theme but no matter what i do, i can’t seem to figure out how to change this title background color of the widgets. they stay almost black, so i can’t use the colors i want from the color menu.

    You can use the following code in the Custom Code within Head Area Box ( Tutorial Link )

    You can change the Color #555555 to your desired one.
